A note from Executive Director, Ken Donnelly – Spring 2026
Dear Invasives Canada Members, Partners, and Supporters,
Since stepping into the role of Executive Director in March, I have had the opportunity to experience firsthand the collaboration, passion, and dedication across the Invasives Canada network. Our chapter organizations, staff, and volunteers are gearing up for a busy field season filled with education and awareness events, invasive species monitoring, community outreach, and on-the-ground removal projects happening right across the country.
We are also excited to share two major campaigns this season, including Invasive Species Action Month in May and PlayCleanGo Awareness Week in June. These annual campaigns continue to expand in size, scope and accomplishments in collaboration with partners across Canada and North America. We continue to be inspired by the many people, organizations and communities working together to prevent the spread of invasive species.
This newsletter showcases how people across Canada can take action to stop the spread of invasive species in the season ahead. Everyone can identify invasive species, report sightings, clean gear and equipment, remove invasive plants from gardens or share knowledge within our communities. Our individual actions add up to a huge national effort to prevent the spread of invasive species and protect the places we love.
Sincerely,
Ken Donnelly, Executive Director, Invasives Canada
