About the Conference:

Following the success of the 2023 Pathways to Change horticulture event, Invasives Canada, together with the Ontario Invasive Plant Council (OIPC) are excited to announce the Growing Solutions Conference. This two-day virtual event will bring together industry professionals, researchers, Indigenous nations, policymakers, and community organizations to address the role horticulture plays in the spread of invasive species.

The horticulture sector is an important pathway for movement of plants, and can have a direct influence on the trade of invasive plants. In the context of climate change, biodiversity loss, and growing consumer demand for sustainable options, the call for native and non-invasive plant alternatives has never been stronger. There is an urgent need for collaboration, innovative solutions, and practical tools to help the horticulture industry shift away from invasive species and toward practices that protect ecosystems and communities.

The first day of the horticulture conference will explore national gaps and priorities for preventing invasive species introductions through the horticulture trade. The second day will showcase success stories and case studies highlighting on-the-ground progress and leadership.

This conference will provide a platform to share innovation, strengthen partnerships, and highlight practices that reduce the risk of invasive species spread through horticulture. Register today for this free event and secure your spot!
